Do you have experience as a parent of a child with food allergies that you would like to share with others? If so, sign up to be a mentor with the Food Allergy Mentoring Program!

 

Learn more about the roles of mentors and mentees below:

 

Note: Condition Confidant is a volunteer-based organization so there is no fee to participate.

As a mentee, you will:

  • Be assigned a mentor who will be your resource as you navigate your child's food allergy

  • Meet one-on-one with your mentor (over zoom, phone, or in person) according to a frequency you both agree upon

  • Have the opportunity to attend large group sessions with other mentees and mentor

As a mentor, you will:

  • Be a resource for a parent seeking support in navigating their child's food allergy

  • Attend a 1-hour group training with other mentors

  • Meet one-on-one with your mentee (over zoom, phone, or in person) according to a frequency you both agree upon

  • Be available to your mentee to answer any questions or concerns as they arise

Here's what we do:

  • Set up phone interviews with each mentor and mentee to inform the pairing process

  • Pair mentors and mentees via a personalized pairing process

  • Facilitate group mentor training

  • Set up the initial meeting for mentor-mentee pairs

  • Organize large group sessions for mentors and mentees
